BookletCreator is a PDF-based tool that creates professional-looking booklets (or signatures) out of your documents. The pages in the document are distributed throughout each booklet in a way that once all pages have been printed and folded, the page order is the one you should expect in any book.
This tiny tool can be used for both professional book printing and binding, and for your own multi-page brochures, pamphlets, and leaflets. The program requires a PDF file to work with, and will generate a new PDF that you can then print or send to a printing house for printing and binding. The layout and page order of the resulting file may look a bit weird for novice users, but once you print all the pages of the booklet(s) and fold them in the right away, you will see that all makes sense. This printing technique is based on the way books are professionally printed and bound. Before the arrival of digital printing, books needed to be divided into signatures or booklets that were printed in large sheets of paper. In these sheets you could see all the 8 or 16 pages of the booklet arranged in a way that only made sense once the sheet of paper had been properly folded and cut. This is roughly what you get with BookletCreator – the first page of a 16-page booklet will have pages 16 and 1 on one side, and pages 2 and 15 on the other side.
The process is as simple as it can be – select the input PDF file, the number of pages per booklet, the size, and after a few seconds the new PDF document will be ready for printing. This is certainly a great compact tool to help you give your books and brochures a professional look and feel.
